Fun Family Festival – June 2018

FREE FUNTASTIC FRIDAYS & MOVIES

FRIDAYS – HOLLYWOOD

Free family films at 8pm at Young Circle in the ArtsPark. June 1st: The Emoji Movie (PG). June 8th: The Princess Diaries (G) June 15th: Father of the Bride 2 (PG). June 22nd: Life of Pi (PG). June 29th: Monsters University (G). The films are preceded by family fun from 5 – 8 pm with face painters, a bounce house, and more.

DAVIE’S TAKE-A-KID FISHING RODEO

6/2 – DAVIE

Children ages 5-12 are invited to the Davie Golf & Country Club (8201 Nova Drive) for a morning of fishing fun. Prizes will be awarded for longest fish, longest bass, most unusual, and most fish caught, along with a sportsmanship award. $ 10 registration includes lunch, bait and a t-shirt. Registration at 7 am event at 8 am.

HUMANE SOCIETY OF BROWARD COUNTY’S SUMMER SPLASH PET ADOPTION

6/8 – 6/10 – FORT LAUDERDALE

There are always a variety of dogs, cats and rabbits looking for new families to love! Adopt any pet 6 months and older and their adoption fee is 1/2 price! That’s a $50 savings on dog adoptions and $15 savings on cat adoptions! Select pets will be featured “Beach Babes” with their adoption fees waived, and they  will come with a beach bucket of goodies! All pets are spayed and neutered. In addition they receive preliminary vaccinations a microchip, 10 day limited health care plan from VCA Animal Hospitals, deworming, treatment for fleas and ticks, feline leukemia test for cats, heartworm test for dogs 7 months or older, 30 days of Trupanion pet insurance and a bag of Purina ONE pet food. The HSBC is located at 2070 Griffin Road just a block west of I-95.

FREE SOUTH BROWARD JUNETEENTH FESTIVAL

6/16 – HOLLYWOOD

Juneteenth is a historic celebration that honors the announcement to end slavery. The event will kick off with a lively parade led by Junkanoo dancers and stilt walkers. Following the parade are gospel performances, artists, motivational speakers, and a bounce house. Event takes place at Attucks Middle School (3500 N 22nd Ave) from 10 am to 8 pm.

FREE STONEWALL PARADE & FESTIVAL 

6/16 – WILTON MANORS

For the 18th consecutive year, the City of Wilton Manors will host the largest LGBT pride event in the greater Fort Lauderdale area, commemorating the Stonewall Riots of 1969. The parade will travel all along Wilton Drive starting at 4 pm. Also enjoy 100 vendors, exhibitors, food trucks, stage performances and more!

FREE DIVE-IN MOVIE NIGHT

6/16 – COOPER CITY

New event! Relax in the water under the night’s sky and enjoy The Little Rascals on the big screen at the Cooper City Pool & Tennis Center (11600 Stonebridge Parkway). Limited to 100 people.
